Eight-Layer Insomnia Reset
A structured eight-layer programme for people who have already tried the obvious things.
What it is
Eight layers, worked in order, from light and timing through to load, breathing, inputs, environment, arousal and follow-through. Each layer has one self-check, one change, and a way to tell whether it worked. You do not need to fix all eight — you need to find the two or three that are actually yours.
Who it is for
- You have slept badly for months, not days.
- You have already tried the usual advice and it did not stick.
- You are willing to run a two-week self-test rather than buy a fix.
- Your problem is not the breathing red flag described below.
Who it is not for
- Anyone with untreated sleep apnoea, or snoring with gasping or witnessed pauses in breathing
- Anyone under active investigation for a cardiac, neurological or psychiatric condition
- Anyone looking for a diagnosis or a treatment protocol
- Anyone who wants a pill, not a process
If you are in one of those groups, a programme is the wrong tool. Clinical assessment is the right one.
Safety and boundaries
This programme is educational. It does not diagnose, it does not treat, and it does not replace a licensed clinician. It is built to sit alongside medical care, not instead of it. Every layer has a "stop and seek care" condition written into it.
Common questions
Does it need supplements or devices? No. The programme is behavioural and mechanical. If a layer can be tested for free, it is tested for free.
How long does it take? Eight layers, roughly two weeks each, but most people find their two or three real layers in the first month and stop there.
Is it a substitute for a sleep clinic? No. If your screening points to a breathing problem, the clinic comes first, and the programme comes after.
